Will You Wait?
04:32
|
|||
When we left the moment did you think that I'd walk off all the wonder in my eyes? The night is getting heavy and if you're tired, I'll carry this.
I'm like, "I'm not asking you to love me."
You're like, "Yeah, but, baby... I'm asking you to stop."
Will you wait? Will you wait for me to find my place?
To find a little peace? Will you wait? Will you wait
and see if this is more than make believe?
I leave the apartment building that day with a couple boxes and some change. I take a while leaving because I know I won't be coming back to this.
I'm like, "I'm not asking you to love me."
You're like, "Yeah, but, baby... I'm asking you to stop."
Will you wait? Will you wait for me to find my place?
To find a little peace? Will you wait? Will you wait
and see if this is more than make believe?

Impression, Sunrise
04:26
|
|||
Paint me into your frame. Delicate,
wistful, and without a trace
of shadows. Nothing arcane.
Show me what I wanna see.
My colors on your canvas,
Impressions on your heart.
Dancing in the art building,
Swirling together, divine
Watercolors. Your eyes
So alive, now mine are too.
Show me what I wanna see.
My colors on your canvas,
Impressions on your heart.
Tell me what you see when you dream.

Every Morning
03:27
|
|||
The days come and go and I want you
to know that you stay steady on my mind.
It's a labyrinth I cannot quit. The dead ends
always make me lose my wit.
Every morning, every evening I find
it hard to believe that you're really here
for me, that I'm really winning this one.
The days come and go and I need you
to know I still hear you singing in the wire.
I don't talk in roses, a heart knows
where its home is and I'm homesick
all the time.
Every morning, every evening I find
it hard to believe that you're really here
for me, that I'm really winning this one.
You don't care at all.

Thin Pieces
04:16
|
|||
Thin pieces of tea leaves
spun about my silver spoon.
"There's life in these jasmine cups," I thought.
Outside, the streetlights kicked on
and it's getting late. You're not here.
I waited. Your cup cooled, then it got colder,
and it got colder still.
Then it got colder, then I got colder,
then we got colder still.
Thin pieces of branches broke
as I walked back to my car.
"It's been years. It makes sense," I thought until I saw you,
a mountain of cigarettes. I tapped your shoulder.
You cried and had one thing to say.
You said you got older, and you get older still.
Said you got colder; well, did you get older?
And are you here older still?
We talked all night, an ocean drive.
You said things like, "Did I waste my time?"
Your face was light and spoke a life
I can't find anywhere else now.

Distance
03:14
|
|||
One day at a time.
YL baby, you drove me crazy.
The little sparks we made could not find their proper place to breathe and become flame.
The misinterpretation, fucking miscommunication cut me up. Your on vacation from this awful situation and feeling all this distance from those nights we kept on kissing and the signals that I'm missing got me sad and got me tripping out.
Why you gotta walk away?

Soon
03:49
|
|||
Quick and quiet trysts on end,
they shook me out of my resting.
You bought my heart with stolen
words and I kept on reading.
You might come over, you might not.
Stealing all your medication, passed out
warm, in some bubble bathtub dream,
running water, laughing, wade in
the shallow waves.
You might come over, you might not, someday.
You might come over,
you might not.
You might come over,
you might come over soon.
